Pokemon Go Easter event countdown BEGINS
UPDATE: Pokemon Go fans have found new evidence to suggest that the Easter event will include XP and egg hatching bonuses.
The Silph Road suggests that the new event will introduce double XP bonuses, which will last for a week.
Furthermore, fans can expect improved egg hatching rates, making it easier to get rare Pokemon.
It seems increasingly likely that Niantic will announce something today, although nothing has been confirmed.
ORIGINAL: Pokemon Go fans are counting down to the big Easter Event, which is expected to start this week.
Niantic is yet to officially announce the Easter event, but having held seasonal events for Halloween and Christmas, an Easter special seems likely.
Niantic typically announces events in the early afternoon, so if the Easter event does happen, it's likely to be revealed within the next 24 hours.
According to new reports, the development team are looking to launch some egg-themed bonuses during the event, as well as perhaps launching one of the game’s newest mechanics.
Dataminers have found evidence of new Redeemable Codes, which can reward new items, Avatar accessories, Candy, Stardust and PokeCoins.
These can come in various different forms, and the Pokemon Go Easter Event could be the first to include some kind of free promotion so that players can earn extra Pokeballs.
Dataminers have discovered that Redeemable Codes are now ready to be deployed and will actually be redeemed via the in-game shop.

Pokemon Go developer Niantic is working on a big new update that will change the way co-op works.
The news was revealed by Niantic following Pokemon Go's BAFTA win for Best Mobile and Handheld Game.
Explaining how the team was inspired by the game's 65 million players, Niantic posted a statement promising big changes for the future.
“We’re still at the beginning of the journey and there’s a lot more to come," reads the Niantic blog post.
"With spring arriving in the northern hemisphere, players can look forward to all new cooperative social gameplay experiences in Pokemon Go that will give Trainers new and exciting reasons to get back into the sunshine.”
The big news fits in with the rumours that have been floating around recently about a major Teams revamp.
Niantic is reportedly working on a big Pokemon Go update which will drastically change the role of Teams.
The map, for example, will reportedly be painted the colour of the team that’s in control of the surrounding Gym.
Pokemon Go developer Niantic recently released a new update that brings the game up to version 0.61.0 for Android and 1.31.0 for iOS devices.
The changes can be found below…

Needless to say, dataminers have been hard at work cracking the game files.
In fact, it was dataminers that discovered Redeemable Codes, which are said to be ready to go.
