When is the April Pink Moon?
The Pink Moon will reach its peak on Tuesday April 11 but you may also be able to spot the the nearly full moon tonight.
Astronomers should be able to spot the the Pink Moon before it reaches its fullest phase at 7.08am BST as dawn breaks on Tuesday.
The Pink Moon will rise tomorrow night as the first full moon of April
Keen astronomy enthusiasts will then wait for the full moon to appear again during moonrise at about 8pm BST on Tuesday in the UK.
The moon will slowly move out of its full phase to its last quarter on April 19 and will fully disappear on April 26.

Why is the April full moon pink?
Despite its name, the Pink Moon does not actually turn pink in April – in fact the moon never changes its colour.
Just like the Blue Moon, the deceptive name originates in Native American traditions of keeping time based on lunar phases.
The Pink Moon owes its name to pink flowers called wild ground phlox which bloom in springtime.

The Pink Moon will appear very close to Jupiter which hang in the night’s sky for the next few months.
Jupiter reached its point of opposition last week on Friday April 7, which means that it is almost directly opposite the Sun.
