After a disappointing season under Luis Enrique, Barcelona are set to embark on a mass overhaul of their squad as they aim to win back the La Liga title recently lost to fierce rivals Real Madrid.
The Catalan giants are close to confirming the appointment of Ernesto Valverde as their new boss, with Enrique leaving his post after three years in charge at the Nou Camp.
Valverde will no doubt aim to repair Barcelona after a tricky campaign, with their defence and midfield coming under scrutiny.
Previous reports have claimed, however, that club talisman Lionel Messi is desperate for the club to sign a world-class striker given Alcacer's troubles since arriving from Valencia last summer.
