A new Overwatch update could make changes to one of the oldest game maps
A recent Overwatch update to the PTR servers was launched and fans have noticed a few tweaks that have only just been confirmed by Blizzard officially.
King’s Row has seen a revamp, however, there have been no major route changes that should concern players.
Instead, the development team are looking to do some serious visual spruce ups.
Principal Level Designer Dave Adams confirmed: "London was one of the earliest maps and some of the tech we use to build maps and optimise for performance has evolved.
“Some aspects of the art and lighting were updated to bring it in line with the newer maps and make it easier to make updates and changes in the future."
“That being said I sent your feedback over to our artists and they are taking a look. Thanks.”

The feedback referenced above is connected to fan displeasure over how the new tweaks make King’s Row look, apparently a little too warm and ugly.
“Having actually tried it myself, it seems that light reflection was toned down or almost completely removed from many surfaces,” one fan wrote.
“I don't know what they were going for, but to be honest the shiny detail on the stones, the rainy look of it, was one thing I really loved about this map visually, and it is sorely missed.”
The most recent Overwatch PTR 1.10 patch notes make no reference to these changes on the official forums, here’s what they do list:
Lucio
- Sonic Amplifier
- Damage increased by 25%
- Heal Song
- Self-healing reduced by 33% (Note this does not affect healing done to other players)
- Wall Ride
- Bonus speed decreased from 30% to 20%
General
- Competitive Play
- Map rotation expanded to all maps
Blizzard believes that Lucio feels like a must-pick due to his "raw healing output and the versatility of providing a speed bonus to your entire team".
While the changes have been designed to keep these elements strong, Lucio players will find it tougher to apply bonuses to the entire team at all times.
"The end result is that he should feel stronger with teams that he can stay close to but not as strong when on teams with heroes that are often spread out (such as Pharah, Widow, Genji, etc)," Blizzard explains.
"Much of Lucio’s character power was tied up in his large passive auras, which caused other elements of his kit to be weakened over time in an attempt to balance him.
"Now that his auras are more focused it will allow them to be much stronger and allow Lucio to be more active in his role."
