Overwatch developer Blizzard issues a warning to PS4 and Xbox players
Overwatch developer Blizzard has has issued a warning to players who use mouse and keyboards on PS4 and Xbox One.
While Blizzard hasn't gone as far as to threaten bans for Overwatch players who use mouse and keyboards on consoles, director Jeff Kaplan has said that the company doesn't approve.
"The Overwatch team objects to the use of mouse and keyboard on console," reads a new blog post.
"We have contacted both first-party console manufacturers and expressed our concern about the use of mouse and keyboard and input conversion devices.
"We have lobbied and will continue to lobby for first-party console manufacturers to either: Disallow mouse and keyboard and input conversion devices OR Openly and easily support mouse and keyboard for ALL players.
"I encourage you to reach out to the hardware manufacturers and express your concerns (but please do so in a productive and respectful way)."
Using a mouse in first-person shooter games makes aiming much faster and more precise, especially when compared to a controller.
Unfortunately, however, these peripherals aren't officially supported on PS4 and Xbox One, so users gain an unfair advantage.

Overwatch Chinese New Year of the Rooster
The news comes just days after Blizzard banned thousands of Overwatch players in South Korea.
Blizzard issued bans to roughly 20,000 players in the region, after it was discovered that some users were using illegal hacks to gain the upper hand.
As Polygon reports, hackers were using third-party programs when visiting internet cafes. With computers completely refreshing after players sign out, it was harder for Blizzard to track cheaters down.
Blizzard said that creating a pleasant playing environment was paramount to the team, and that the studio was trying to issue countermeasures to combat the issue.
Overwatch players are currently enjoying the Year of the Rooster event, which runs until February 13 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The biggest draw of the event is the Capture the Rooster mode, which sees teams face off on Lijiang Tower, where players attempt to secure the enemy flag.
"In this fast-paced brawl, players will need to get creative with their team compositions as they attempt to construct a lineup that’s built for offensive speed and defensive stability," reads a Blizzard post.
Lucky Lunar Loot Boxes replace the normal kind, and are packed with new skins like Palanquin D.Va and Wukong Winston.
