Overwatch appears to be having server issues across the globe
UPDATE – 15:50 GMT
Blizzard has taken its game servers offline.
The company confirmed the news on Twitter.
It posted, “Due to an outage, game servers were taken offline to ensure the safety of the hardware. We are working to bring services back online.”
The problem appears to be an issue that is affecting the auth servers, Blizzard has stated.
This is what is currently preventing players from logging in.

Blizzard has confirmed that its servers are experiencing difficulties.
The video game company used its official Twitter account to confirm the rumoured outages.
It posted, “We're currently investigating an issue affecting all our authentication servers, which may result in failed or slow login attempts.”
It also directly addressed those unable to login to Overwatch servers.
Blizzard tweeted: “#Overwatch We are currently investigating reports of login issues. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
It added: “The technical issues we mentioned earlier are still being investigated. Further updates in an hour.”

Overwatch is experiencing server connection issues this morning, leaving hundreds of PC, PS4 and Xbox One gamers unable to login.

Thousands of Overwatch players are experiencing the issues every hour, the service has reported.

Some 66 per cent of those having issues with the game are experiencing a server connection error, while 33 per cent are unable to access online gaming at all.
The UK and Australia appear to be the worse hit.
“Anyone else unable to play Overwatch?!” one Twitter user posted.

Blizzard has yet to acknowledge the issues.
