Overwatch Chinese New Year of the Rooster
The new Overwatch Year of the Rooster Event was announced last week by Blizzard.
A short announcement video was posted on Twitter, and was accompanied with the following caption: “Good luck and great fortune await!”
The brief trailer sees Mei sporting a new Overwatch skin. A separate teaser was released with D.VA in other territories.
A Valentine's Day event was also expected, but Blizzard has seemingly ruled this out.
Reddit dataminers discovered new voice lines in the latest PTR update.
The voice lines all involve chocolates, as Genji asks Hanzo if he has any chocolates today. In another clip, Genji tells Mercy that he has some chocolates for her.
With Overwatch events seemingly taking place every other month and with Valentine's Day lending itself to a themed event, it makes sense that this would be the next big content drop.
However, Blizzard is yet to make any official announcement, and previously seemed to rule out Valentine's and Easter events.
There most recent comment, via the Overwatch page, was simply: "No Valentine's event."
