Mike Pence is ramping up the aggression towards Kim Jong-un
Addressing more than 2,500 US and Japanese military personnel, the Donald Trump's vice president indicated war could be imminent by saying “storms gather on the horizon”.
The dramatic speech is the largest indication the hermit nation could be about to feel the full force of a joint American and Japanese military assault.
Speaking on board the USS Ronald Reagan, Mr Pence said: “North Korea is the most dangerous and urgent threat to the peace and security of the Asia-Pacific.
“As President Trump has made clear to the world, the era of strategic patience is over.”

This reflects the US opinion that Pyongyang is engaging in active deception as it continues to carry out nuclear missile tests.
Mr Pence told the masses America would return any act of aggression from the North Korean dictator with an “overwhelming and effective” response.
He added: “The US will be stronger than ever before. When America is strong, the world is safe.”
Conveniently, the USS Ronald Reagan is being refitted at the Japanese port of Yokosuka, allowing the Vice President to visit it during the Japanese leg of his tour.
