Speaking at the Ukip spring conference in Bolton, he urged Theresa May to put pressure on the European Union.
He said: "We want to see a Brexit which is clean, which is swift, which has us outside of the single market, a Brexit where we can control our own borders.
"A Brexit where we don’t pay EU fees, a Brexit where we can make our own laws.
"But we also want to see a swift brexit, with the Government on the front foot. We want to see us applying the pressure on the EU.
"The thing about Theresa May is that she has always been very good at talking the talk but she has always failed at walking the walk.

"We must hold the government’s feet to the fire and prove that Brexit means exit."
He said Britain had "nothing to fear" by leaving the European Union.

Mr Nuttall said: "We have nothing to fear. Project Fear has failed: manufacturing is up, we are the fastest growing country in the G7 but we can do better."
