Nigel Clough looks set to snub Nottingham Forest in favour of staying at Burton
Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi has made an official approach to neighbours Burton Albion to speak to him.
But that is likely to be knocked back, saving Clough any embarrassment at snubbing the chance to return to the City Ground where his father Brian enjoys legendary status.
The 50-year-old has never ruled out one day returning to the club where he made over 300 appearances as a player.
Clough is wary of Nottignham Forest fans' hatred towards owner Fawaz Al Hasawi
Only this week Clough said linking him to the job where his father managed for 18 years was 'logical.'
But he is thought to be wary of Kuwaiti businessman Al Hasawi who is despised by a large majority of Forest fans.
That, along with his genuine friendship and respect for Burton chairman Ben Robinson, looks destined to scupper Forest's attempt to lure him away.
