Nintendo Switch Pre Order news
It had been reported earlier this week that Nintendo Switch Pre Order had been cancelled at several US retailers.
The reported list included both Target and Gamestop, with Nintendotoday.com reporting: “Last month, GameStop ran out of their allocated Switch units and had to shut down pre-orders." writes Nintendo Today
"They resumed a week later after getting new stock, but apparently, it wasn’t enough — more people pre-ordered the console than GameStop had units available."
However, since this story hit the internet, Games Industry have been in touch with Gamestop, who have confirmed that they will not be cancelling any current Nintendo Switch Pre Orders.
“GameStop has not, and is not, cancelling any Nintendo Switch pre-orders due to allocation issues," the representative said.

"We are working very closely to confirm and validate any and all pre-orders of this innovative gaming system.
“Should any customer who pre-ordered a Nintendo Switch console from GameStop experience any issue with their order, we encourage them to contact our Guest Care team so we can help resolve the issue."
The same question has been posed to Target, who have yet to reply.
The news will be bring relief to many customers who might have thought that they were about to lose their chance of playing the new console on March 3.
Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima recently moved to quell speculation that Nintendo Switch Pre Order shortages could arise, based on how other hardware has been supplied by the company of late.
“We are continuously producing in earnest, and there are no changes to our plans to ship two million hardware units worldwide by the end of March 2017,” he recently told investors.
“Pre-order sales have also begun across the globe. We have heard that many retailers have already closed pre-orders and have allocated remaining inventory for sale on launch day.
“This pre-order momentum is reassuring proof that the core gamer demographic understands the uniqueness of the Nintendo Switch and continues to support us.
“We are preparing our supply system to ensure that we will be able to make continued shipments after launch as well.”
