Nintendo Switch won't support backwards compatible games
The Nintendo Switch games list has taken a hit with the news that the console won't be backwards compatible.
This means that Nintendo Switch owners won't be able to play Wii and Wii U classics on the system when the March release date rolls around.
The Nintendo Switch will have some kind of Virtual Console support, but fans will have to pay extra to access these NES and SNES classics.
Future Nintendo Switch updates might bring classic controller support to the console.
The Nintendo Switch news was confirmed by company president Tatsumi Kimishima, who told Time: "Switch is not backward compatible with games designed for other systems, and is not currently compatible with controllers designed for other systems."
