A new multiplatform game costs more on Nintendo Switch than PS4
Nintendo Switch game Puyo Puyo Tetris has been given an April release date and a £34.99 price tag.
That's £10 more than the PS4 version, which also makes its debut on April 28, but only costs £24.99.
The PlayStation 4 version of the colourful puzzle game will only be available at retail, while the Nintendo Switch edition can be downloaded online and purchased in store.
Nintendo Switch prices have been criticised since the console and games were unveiled in full.
The Nintendo Switch version of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild costs more than its Wii U counterpart, while a spare set of Joy-Con controllers will set you back £75.
Puyo Puyo Tetris – which launches on the same day as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – is a mash-up of popular puzzle games Puyo Puyo and Tetris, and comes with a host of single and multiplayer game modes.

Little Inferno Nintendo Switch launch game
Multiplayer game modes include Versus, Swap, Fusion, Big Bang and Party.
Swap sees players compete on Puyo Puyo and Tetris boards that continually switch back and forth at set intervals, while Fusion is a hybrid of both games on one board.
You can check out a list of Puyo Puyo Tetris multiplayer modes below:
- Versus – Players compete head-to-head in either Puyo Puyo or Tetris to fight in the puzzle fight of their life.
- Swap – Players' abilities are put to the ultimate test when they compete on both Puyo Puyo and Tetris boards, which switch back and forth at set intervals.
- Fusion – A true hybrid game where players compete with Puyos and Tetriminos together on the same board, requiring deft, on-the-fly thinking to become victorious.
- Big Bang – It's a race to the finish as players compete against each other to clear unique challenge boards as quickly as possible to win.
- Party – Players compete on Puyo or Tetris boards, but the puzzles feature special items that when activated either help players or harm their opponents.
The Nintendo Switch games list is starting to look healthier ahead of the console's March 3 release date.
And the Nintendo Switch launch lineup recently hit double figures, as World of Goo, Little Inferno and Human Resource Machine all joined the games list.
It comes just days after Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ was announced as a Nintendo Switch launch game, which was followed by the announcement of I Am Setsuna.
The current list of Nintendo Switch launch games can be found below:
- 1-2-Switch – March 3
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – March 3
- Skylanders Imaginators – March 3
- Just Dance 2017 – March 3
