The Nintendo Switch games list's next mega-hit looks to have been announced
The latest Legend of Zelda game launch provided fans with a top AAA title to play in the console’s first month, without much other competition to knock it from the top spot.
During a recent financial report it was revealed that Zelda Breath of the Wild had sold 2.76 million units, compared to 2.74 million Switch consoles.
Gamestop have also confirmed that they have sold more copies of the game than they have the Nintendo Switch console, and it’s not the only game that’s had a huge impact.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe started setting new Nintendo franchise sales records in the United States on its first day.

One of the newest entries into the Nintendo Switch game list has been confirmed to have moved 459,000 copies on launch day in the US, with the huge numbers beating Mario Kart Wii to become the fastest-selling game in the franchise's history.
It continues to dominate the sales charts in Japan and was even deemed a mega-hit, having helped boost Nintendo’s stock price.
But that might prove to be small fry in comparison to another gaming announcement just made.
This week saw a Nintendo Switch Monster Hunter XX version confirmed, creating another huge surge in the company’s stock price.
The impact of Capcom’s announcement created a rise of 5.48% to ¥33,510 ($301.27) in Tokyo, and could see a further boost now it's been confirmed for release in Japan on August 25.

Here are the Wii U games that MUST come to Nintendo Switch
It’s an incredible feat for a game that hasn’t even seen a full release on the Nintendo 3DS in the west, although this might all change with the Nintendo Switch.
Monster Hunter XX may not beat either Zelda or Mario Kart in terms of sales, but its popularity in Japan alone could make it one of the most important new launches for the hybrid console.
Serkan Toto, CEO of Japanese gaming consultant and advisory group Kantan Games, commented on the franchise’s past impact to CNBC, explaining: "People were buying the 3DS just because of the game.
“A lot of investors are expecting a similar effect with the Switch.”
