The Nintendo Switch games virtual console has yet to be given a launch date
Currently, we know that a new Virtual Console feature is being planned for the Nintendo Switch and is rumoured to include GameCube games.
The launch of VC would provide a huge boost for the Nintendo Switch games list, which is currently subsisting on Zelda Breath of the Wild and some other more recent eShop releases.
However, Nintendo have yet to confirm just when the Virtual Console feature will be released and what it will focus on first.
Nintendo renewed a trademark for horror game Eternal Darkness, which suggests that the rumours of Gamecube Virtual Console support could be true.

The latest trademark was filed on December 20, just a month before the Nintendo Switch Tokyo event and a few months before the March release date.
The trademark refers to Eternal Darkness as downloadable software, which would further suggest that Gamecube releases are coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo is also said to be working on bringing Gamecube versions of Super Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion and Super Smash Bros. Melee to the Switch Virtual Console.
But while Nintendo Switch owners continue to wait to find out when the VC will be launched, independent developers using the Samsung Galaxy S8 appear to have beaten them to the punch.

“I was able to get a build of dolphin working that did not have the blue haze issue. It is running very very well as you can see and definitely has me excited for the launch of the S8,” Guru explains.
“Decided to shoot in 1080p 60 as it shows off the games speed and smoothness a bit better.”
The new video showcases the Samsung Galaxy S8's new power, with older models and other phones unable to run open source software at the same spec level.

The Video Game History Foundation's Frank Cifaldi recently spoke on the subject of Zelda Breath of the Wild being so quickly ported to PC, using the Wii U version of the game.
Discussing the matter of ethics and using emulators, Cifaldi explained why the new port may have arrived so quickly.
"People are psyched to do it right now, and they might not be in 10 years…" he told PC Gamer.
"Piracy is wrong," Cifaldi added, who recently helped produce Mega Man Legacy Collection.
"It does hurt the industry. But I don't think blaming emulation is the way to go on that.… I can go buy rat poison right now. That doesn't mean I'm going to make someone drink it.
“So blaming the existence of emulation for piracy, I don't buy it. I don't buy that argument."
