Niantic's Pokemon Go update is causing loading issues
Pokemon Go's Gen 2 release date might be just around the corner, but Niantic must first fix a MAJOR issue that has appeared with the latest update.
Pokemon Go fans have taken to Reddit to complain about long loading times since downloading the newest update.
According to the Reddit message boards, Android update 0.53.1 has caused the game to pause on the home screen once the loading bar reaches 100%.
Reddit reports suggest that the game gets stuck for upwards of a minute once the loading bar fills up.
Disgruntled fans are worried that the next Pokemon Go update won't land for another 4 weeks, and that they'll miss out on catching some rare Pokemon on their travels.
And that's not the only thing fans are upset about in the latest update.

Pokemon Go's new update also makes changes to how the GPS tracker works, which means Eggs potentially take longer to hatch.
Pokemon Go currently tracks distance travelled through GPS. This means that players sometimes rack up a few additional steps, even when they're standing still.
The new update changes all that, which means you won't rack up as many bonus steps.
And with the current crop of Gen 2 baby Pokemon only available by hatching eggs, players need all the bonus steps they can get.
Fortunately, this might not be an issue for long, because new moves discovered by data mining the Pokemon Go update may be a sign that new Pokemon are inbound.
The last time Niantic introduced new moves, Pokemon Go fans were treated to the release of Ditto, which was quickly followed by the first Gen 2 Pokemon.
The secrets were uncovered alongside potential new features like Evolution items and shiny Pokemon.
That's on top of a new Pokemon Go newsfeed, as well as more extensive customisation options and new Pokemon Forms.
You can check out the secrets that were data mined by fans by looking through the gallery below:
