Jeremy Hunt has admitted that the NHS has fallen short of its targets in January
The stark admission came during a press conference on NHS performance.
But as feared the national health care system is not up to speed as only 86.2 per cent of patients in accident and emergency were treated within four hours in December.
It falls far short of the Governmnet's own targets which aims for 95 per cent of A&E patients to be seen within four hours.
Mr Hunt admitted that a complete turnaround was needed in order for the NHS to achieve its goals.
