Moira Stuart told Chris Evans that she no longer drinks alcohol yesterday
Speaking on his Radio 2 breakfast show, the BBC journalist said she now leaves alcohol "alone" after her body started reacting badly.
The 67-year-old, who became the first female African-Caribbean newsreader back in 1981, revealed all after being questioned about Dry January.
When asked if she had ever drunk, Moira commented: "Oh I did. Oh yes. I used to when I was a child… notorious at weddings, going round and drinking everybody's."
Chris, 50, replied: "Minesweeping is what it's called. You were an early minesweeper? And that put you off for life?"

Moira's comments come months after she was the subject of an embarrassing gaffe on the Today programme, when John Humphrys refused to read out a story about her.
