Newcastle have reportedly made a £10.4m bid for Ismaila Sarr
Newcastle United have set about strengthening for their return to the Premier League next season after winning the Championship.
The Toon have already been linked with a move for goalkeeper Pepe Reina this week, who knows manager Rafa Benitez well from his Liverpool days.
And soon to follow could be Metz winger Ismaila Sarr, according to French magazine France Football.
The report says Newcastle have made a £10.4million bid for the 19-year-old and are awaiting a response from the club.
Metz reportedly want closer to £13m for Ismaila Sarr
Sarr had a solid campaign for Metz, scoring five goals and providing five assists in 33 appearances.
And the Ligue 1 club's boss Philippe Hinschberger sung his praises earlier in the season.
"He runs at opponents, he’s quick and he’s someone you don’t like to defend against, so we like to have him," Hinschberger said.
However, they will do well to hold onto the Senegal international who has attracted a host of suitors besides Newcastle.

France Football claim Ligue 1 rivals Lille are also keeping tabs on the teenager.
But Metz are said to be holding out – despite the mounting interest – for a fee closer to £13m.
Sarr is predominantly a left winger but is versatile and also featured on the right flank 10 times this season.
He is under contract with Metz until June 2021, having penned a five-year deal last summer.
