Magikarp Jump is free to play on iOS and Android
Pokemon Go has a new rival in the form of Magikarp Jump on iOS and Android.
The latest release from the Pokemon Company is a bizarre new game in which players catch Magikarp and train them to jump the highest.
Here's how the Pokemon Company describes it: "What is this world coming to?! It's a Pokemon game all about the weakest Pokemon ever – Magikarp! Anyone can play this simple game in their spare time to create the most majestic Magikarp ever in this official Pokemon app!"
Magikarp Jump players must first catch a Pokemon, before tapping the screen to feed it food and then completing training routines to increase its power.
It even features appearances from Pikachu and Piplup.

According to Pokemon Company, players can discover all kinds of Magikarp, including ones with unusual patterns like calico and polka dots.
You can even customise your pond with decorations, some of which make Magikarp grow faster.
Players can purchase Diamond and Exchange tickets from the in-game store.

Perhaps you'll even be able to snag a Shiny Magikarp like in Pokemon Go.
It should entertain Pokemon fans beyond the end of the Pokemon Go Adventure Week Rock event.
Niantic's latest Pokemon Go event has a 9pm end time on May 25, which means there's not long left to grab those Rock-type bonuses.
For the duration of the Adventure Week Rock-type event, Pokemon Go players will receive more items from Pokestops, as well as more Candy from Buddy Pokemon.
In fact, Buddy Pokemon will find Candy four times as fast, which is great for players hoping to evolve some Pocket Monsters.
The price of Poke Balls will be slashed by 50% from the in-game shop, and players will also be able to equip the brand new Explorer’s Hat from the wardrobe.
But the most exciting piece of news is that Rock-type Pokemon will appear with greater frequency.
