Madeleine West reprised her role as the corpse bride last month, who was later revealed to be scam artist Andrea Somers, 13 years after Dee was hurled off a cliff edge on her wedding day to Toadie Rebecchi.
And now Ryan Moloney, who’s starred as Dee’s long-suffering husband Toadie for over 22 years, exclusively told Express.co.uk that West’s time on the soap may not be over.
“There’s a possibility she could come back,” he admitted. “I know [Madeleine’s] doing a writing attachment with the writing team, so I know that’s coming up.”
After Sindi Watts made a shock return to Neighbours and was exposed as Dee’s accomplice Emily, Ryan also revealed that Toadie will be in store for more “dark” twists and turns ahead. Though, after two decades of playing the lovelorn hero, the change has been welcomed.

Neighbours' Ryan Moloney
“It’s definitely been great to take him into dark, confused, upset and tormented places,” he enthused. “It’s been really enjoyable. I say enjoyable, it’s been horrible but at the same time it’s one of the jobs where you go, ‘Let’s see how messed up we can make this and let’s go there.’ From that level, from that sadistic level you know this will be good.
“After 22 years I just want it to be nice and easy but at the same time you go, ‘Ah well, I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity to do it.’
“It’s like a double-edged sword. You think you don’t really want to have to go there but then after you’ve done it you remember, ‘Ah, that felt good’.”

As for Toadie’s future with Sonya Rebecchi, Ryan assured that even Dee’s non-comeback will stand in their way.
“With Sonya and Toadie they’ve been though so much together and with Dee, he never really got to build a life with Dee,” he said. “But saying that, it’s because he didn’t get to build a life with Dee that he’s got so many questions that remain unanswered: Will those feelings come back up? And what does he do about them?
“I don’t think [Sonya] should be worried. Toadie and Sonya are rock solid. They go through their emotions and at the core that’s life really, so she shouldn’t be worried.”
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
