Back in 2003, the Neighbours favourite shocked fans by quitting after three years on the show.
Madeleine told news.com.au: "The writers have really done a sterling job in creating a plausible, justifiable storyline for what in essentially a completely implausible story.
"I will say she has hashtag 'pulled a Harold', but don't take anything on face value. This story gets very complicated."

There are dramatic scenes in the Australian soap this week as a hot air balloon crashes in Erinsborough. Take a look at the most dramatic moments in Neighbours history.

Harold Bishop (played by Ian Smith) was swept out to sea in 1991 before returning five years later with amnesia.
Her character, Dee, 'died' on her wedding day in a dramatic moment that went down in Neighbours history.
The just-married couple, Dee and Toadfish Rebecchi (played by Ryan Moloney) accidentally drove their car off a cliff and into the sea and, although Toadie survived, Dee's body was never found.
Speaking about filming her death scene, Madeleine said: "It was quite hilarious on the day. Seeing that crash test dummy with the blonde wig that almost decapitated itself when it was midair crashing into the ocean and seeing poor Ryan trying to film the following scenes where Dee has mysteriously disappeared and he's standing in knee deep water…
Dee appeared to drown in 2003 but her body was never found
"It was quite hilarious but once you put the soundtrack in and the slow-mo effects it really did work quite well and the audience loved it."
Madeleine also opened up about leaving the show, saying: "It was my decision to leave. The producers were very keen for my character to continue but I'd reached a point were, as much as I loved Dee, I wasn't feeling challenged by her anymore.
"I like to think of myself as a character actor and I'd gone into that very dangerous zone for any character actor where you get a bit lazy and you start playing yourself on set."
Since leaving the show, Madeleine says Neighbours fans have come up with some interesting theories as to what happened to Dee: "They included alien abduction, that she has an identical twin who died in the car crash, that she pulled a Harold and floated off to Tasmania."
Madeleine has had six children since she quit the show in 2003
In the 13 years since she left Ramsay Street, Madeleine has appeared in several series including the Australian true crime-drama series Underbelly.
She said that she had been approached multiple times about a return to Neighbours but was either busy with other work or raising her six children and that, this time, the timing happened to be right: "The stars seemed to align.
"I want to move into writing for film and television so there was an opportunity to taker up a writing attachment at Neighbours which I'll be doing this year and also I'll be doing a directors attachment so it was just the right time to return."
