The teen has since apologised for the dance
The teenager – believed to be 17-years-old – was caught on camera twerking to an R&B Song.
But while the teenager appeared to have enjoyed the dance, she faced sickening death threats and cruel insults when the clip was posted to Facebook.
One social media user said: "That's so disrespectful. You are representing Islam."
She faced abusive and threatening comments for the video
Another added: "Truly disgusting. Some people don't understand the meaning of the veil.”
Others used cruel slurs to call the young girl a “f***ing s***" with another adding "stupid b**** needs to be killed".
Others defended the teenager, saying: “It’s a free country, who are we to judge her”.
She was with her friends when they heard the music
A girl claiming to be the unnamed teen has since taken to youtube to apologise, explaining she had only practised Islam for 2 months and had struggled with mental health issues.
In an emotional interview on Muslim vlogger Ali Dawah's youtube channel, she said she was going shopping with friends when she heard the music.
It was then that her friend wanted her to join in a dance to a street performer.

The dance took place in the busy streets of Birmingham city centre
The teenager claimed that at first she was “hesitating” but went ahead because she has “problems” and finds it hard to “think straight”.
She said: “To all the girls that wear hijab and wear abayah, I'm sorry for disrespecting it. I've learnt from my mistake.
“It’s gone viral and I’m just hurt, I just want everybody to leave it alone and keep it away.”
