Mike Pence is heading off on a 10-day tour of Asia where he will discuss North Korea
Mr Pence is due to arrive in Seoul as part of a 10-day trip around Asia in bid to show America’s commitment to its allies in the face of North Korean aggression.
The Republican will also make stops in Tokyo, Jakarta and Sydney to discuss the issue of North Korea, among other things.
Donald Trump and Mike Pence have been briefed about North Korea's failed missile launch and discussed the disturbing event.

The US Pacific Command statement said: “The Command detected and tracked what we assess was a North Korean missile launch.
“The launch of the ballistic missile occurred near Sinpo.
“The US Pacific Command is fully committed to working closely with our allies in the Republic of Korea and in Japan to maintain security.”

The UK Foreign Office has said it is "concerned by reports of a missile test by North Korea" and is "monitoring the situation closely".

The US nuclear warning system DefCon has been upgraded to threat level four as a US aircraft carrier group is en route to the Korean Peninsula.
