Mick Schumacher has already been successful in his own right in the lower levels of motor racing
Schumacher’s father Michael became synonymous with Formula One during his 20-year career and still holds the wins record with 91.
And his son is now being tipped for similar glory as he continues to impress in the lower levels of motor racing.
Jean Todt was the general manager at Ferrari for 13 years and oversaw Schumacher Snr’s five world championship titles with the team.
Mick Schumacher has been linked with a move to Nico Rosberg's former team Mercedes
And having known son Mick all his life, Todt is keen for the 17-year-old not to be weighed down by his famous surname.
"Mick's a wonderful boy,” Todt told German agency SID.
“I can only ask everyone: do not put the boy under so much pressure."
Michael Schumacher is the most successful F1 driver of all time
Schumacher Jnr initially raced under his mother’s surname – Betsch – to avoid undue media attention.
But when he broke into Formula 4 in 2014, he raced as Mick Schumacher and has impressed ever since.
He finished 2nd in the series last year and will race for Prema Powerteam in Formula 3 in this coming season.

Prema have strong links with Ferrari with 2016 driver Antonio Giovinazzi having been promoted to F1 test driver earlier this month.
However, Mercedes are also said to be interested in adding Schumacher to their own young driver programme.
But again Todt asked F1 fans not to annoint him too soon.
"Mick is going to go on his way,” Todt added.
“He loves racing and he has already shown what he can do in Formula 4.
“He should be left alone to continue developing.”
