Depay is on the verge of completing his £21.7million (€25m) transfer to Ligue 1 club Lyon.
Depay joined Manchester United for a fee of £25m in the summer of 2015 but has been a huge disappointment at Old Trafford.
The Holland international has made just seven appearances for United under Jose Mourinho this season and will now look to revive his career in France.

And today Depay confirmed his move to Lyon with a series of messages on Twitter.
“We are the Olympic LYONNAIS,” Depay posted to his over one million strong following.
He then wrote a message to Manchester United’s fans, saying: “Thanks for all the memories during my time as a Red Devil. I will never forget all your support at @ManUtd. #RedDevils #ManUtd.”
Depay then told Lyon’s fans: “I hope to make you all proud #TeamOL @OL.”

Depay is the second player United have sold this month, following Morgan Schneiderlin’s £22m switch to Everton.
United have included a buy-back clause in Depay’s deal with Lyon and Mourinho hopes they activate it one day.
"Of course because potentially he is a very good player,” Mourinho said.
"I think when Mr Van Gaal decided to buy him, he did well. He knew him very well from the national team.
"He was very young when in the World Cup. He had flashes of top quality.

Memphis Depay struggled to live up to his billing at Manchester United

"He was playing well in Holland – we know that the Dutch league is not the same but he was showing very good things.
"I think Mr Van Gaal and Manchester United they did well to buy him.
"He didn't succeed in this 18 months, I would say, but he is very young so I think it is important for the club to keep control of this talent.
"And we all wish that he plays very, very well at Olympique Lyon and why not to come back because everyone here likes him."
