Meghan Markle is an ambassador for World Vision, just as Princess Diana was
The Suits actress was spotted arriving at Mumbai Airport yesterday morning after spending time in Delhi promoting young women’s health and hygiene for World Vision Canada.
The 35-year-old American was originally set to spend 10 days in the country, but has spent just five days, according to media who spotted the star at Mumbai Airport.
At the beginning of January it was reported Ms Markle had cancelled the entire trip due to security concerns, however the committed philanthropist went ahead with her mission this week.

Prince Harry’s mother, Diana, was also an ambassador for World Vision, making the trip even more poignant as the loved-up couple’s relationship flourishes.
Ms Markle spent her time in India promoting women’s hygiene by giving out tampons to young women in impoverished areas of Delhi.
While meeting young girls, the American beauty had her hands painted with henna.

She also attended some high level meetings with various NGOs which included an audience with Shamina Shafiq, a former member of India’s national commission for women.
World Vision Canada is understood to have paid for the actress’ return business class tickets between India and Toronto where she lives while filming Suits.
The NGO also paid for a bodyguard to accompany her at all times.
Ms Markle has previously toured Afghanistan and Rwanda as part of her humanitarian effort with World Vision, something Diana would have been proud of.
During her visits she has shown the same charm and warmth with children in war-ridden states, bringing back images of the ‘People’s Princess’ who worked tirelessly to support children in deprived countries.
Ms Markle previously said her work with the NGO is integral to her life.

She said: “While my life shifts from refugee camps to red carpets, I choose them both because these worlds can, in fact, coexist. And for me, they must.
“I never wanted to be a lady who lunches – I've always wanted to be a woman who works. And this type of work is what feeds my soul, and fuels my purpose.”
Prince Harry will most likely not be happy his girlfriend has been forced to cut her trip short after he took the unusual step of speaking out against people putting Ms Markle’s safety at risk.

In November, the first time he publicly acknowledged the pair were dating, a statement from Kensington Palace, said: “Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her.
“It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm.
“He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees.
“This is not a game – it is her life and his.”
