The 22-year-old Spaniard, who has raced to No 12 in the world after turning professional only ten months ago, has impressed Bjorn with his taste for the big occasion at Augusta.
The Dane is regarding him as an angel sent from above in Europe’s quest to win back the cup next year.

“Yes, I’d be lying if I said otherwise,” said Bjorn. “He’s strong, and he looks like he’s loving it.
"There’s great talent coming round and he just looks like a guy who wants to get his nose in there on a Sunday, and in a Ryder Cup – those are the players you want.”

Bjorn, who has been in touch with Rahm already, also expects the likes of Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton to press for places despite their less impressive debuts at Augusta. Both missed the cut.
“It’s a changing of the guard,” said Bjorn. “It’s still difficult to see a Ryder Cup team without the likes of Rory, Justin, Henrik and Sergio – and you wouldn’t put is past Poults, Graeme (McDowell) and others to come back – but the group behind that is seeing big changes. There’s just a much bigger group.”
