The rally descended into chaos after the protester attacked Trump supporters
Supporters of the President immediately tackled the man and started punching and kicking him – triggering a mass brawl between the opposing factions, according to reports.
Videos on social media showed people grabbing the man, who wore a mask, and attacking him on the sand at the Make America Great Again rally at Huntington Beach, California.
The protester eventually managed to escape over a nearby fence as the crowd chased him on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Local police detained the man in question, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Hundreds of Trump supporters attended the rally, one of 40 similar planned events across the US.
