Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch lasts around 3 hours
It's an important question to ask for fans who own a console that can be used during busy commutes or hanging out around a mate's house.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has also been sold by Nintendo as one of their main titles this year that will include wide-ranging online and offline multiplayer options.
So the question of battery drain is as important one, and the answer has apparently been revealed, just weeks before the new Nintendo Switch games list entry arrives.
While the Wii U port is likely to prove popular with fans, several factors have to be taken into account before deciding just how successful it will be.
One of the main selling points of the new Nintendo gaming machine is that it's portable, and many fans will be looking to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, on the move.
And according to Game Rant, the kart-racing title is set to last around the three-hour mark, the same as some other current releases.
Zelda Breath of the Wild is pegged at around the same length of time, meaning fans may be disappointed that they won’t be able to squeeze more from their devices.
“At a full charge (and with the screen brightness left at around 30%) the Nintendo Switch ran Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for exactly 3 hours, 9 minutes, and 20 seconds – providing this user with a little over three hours worth of play time,” the site confirms.

And to achieve that amount of time, players will also have to skip some of the new features being offered up in the new Nintendo Switch game.
“Given the co-op capabilities of the title, which are still present and accounted for when the system is undocked, the desire to detach the Joy-Con controllers for some multiplayer shenanigans is sure to rear its head,” Game Rant adds.
“The revamped Battle Mode in particular is likely to draw the attention of fans, and that could also impact the battery life once players have disconnected the Joy-Con to share the experience with others.”
The battery extenders that are currently in the works won’t be out in time for the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which makes its Switch debut on April 28.
