A trio of armed men burst into the woman’s house brandishing knives and demanding cash.
The terrified victim’s mouth was gagged with tape as they raided her house in Longsight, Greater Manchester.
The brutal crooks then torched the place – with the helpless woman still tied up inside – and fled.
She managed to escape the burning building and made it onto a bay window roof.

Firefighters managed to rescue the woman – despite frantic neighbours getting ladders to try and help her down – and she was rushed to hospital.
She was uninjured but badly shaken after the ordeal on Sunday.
A shocked neighbour described the scene, saying: “She was in a bad way. She was very distressed. I hope they catch the people that did this.”

Another said: “We came out when we smelt the smoke. We suspected something was going on, then we saw the woman on the roof of the front window.
"It was just so unexpected, we couldn’t believe it.
“It happened so fast, it was a blur. We’ve heard she is very upset, but wasn’t hurt.”
The house was boarded up by police as the woman went to stay with relatives.

The full extent of the damage not known but a first-floor window was badly charred.
Superintendent Dave Pester, from Greater Manchester Police's City team, confirmed they were hunting the thugs down.
