Spanish outlet Don Balon claim the Ivory Coast international was one of Diego Simeone's top summer transfer targets.
However, Jose Mourinho has reportedly held talks with Aurier and convinced him to join United rather than Atletico.

The report says the 24-year-old is keen to move to Old Trafford and has turned down a new deal with PSG.
But Aurier's move to United is not a foregone conclusion as PSG's chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi could reportedly block his transfer.
The Ligue 1 champions have been attempting to get the defender to extend his current deal which expires in June 2019 for months.

Aurier has been a key player for the French side since joining from Toulouse permanently in 2015.
The right-back has made 77 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing 15 assists.
