Juan Mata scored Manchester United's third against Leicester

Manchester United ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against Leicester with goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata.

However, the game could have gone very differently had Mata been shown a red card for his first-half challenge on Jamie Vardy.

And the Spain international has admitted post-match he feels he was "lucky" to stay on the field.

"I was late," Mata said.

"I tried to reach the ball.

"I didn’t want to hurt Jamie [Vardy] in any case but obviously I was late.

Should Juan Mata have seen red for this challenge on Jamie Vardy?

"I was a bit lucky there.

"But my only intention was to get the ball. Just because I lost it 10 seconds before."

The result means Leicester have lost their last four Premier League games, while United extended their unbeaten run in the league to 15 games.
