Rooney was part of the Manchester United squad which won the Europa League final against Ajax on Wednesday.
That leaves the Super Cup as the only club competition the forward has not collected during his time at Old Trafford.
United will play either Real Madrid or Juventus on August 8 in Skopje, Macedonia for the chance to win a trophy against the Champions League winners.
Rooney has been heavily linked with an exit from United, after falling out of favour at the club, which has resulted in him being dropped from the England squad.
He has plenty of offers on the table and is set to make a decision in the coming weeks.
Wayne Rooney may want to stay at Man Utd to try and win the European Super Cup
We're talking about the Manchester United captain and it's a bizarre thing to say but I think Wayne Rooney is in quite a strong position
James Cooper on Man Utd star Wayne Rooney
"The day after finding out he wasn't in the England squad, we're talking about the England captain, we're talking about the Manchester United captain and it's a bizarre thing to say but I think Wayne Rooney is in quite a strong position," Sky Sports journalist James Cooper said.
"There are offers on the table from Premier League clubs, there are offers on the table from clubs abroad including China and of course he has a big, big lucrative contract at Manchester United.
"I think he has choices there and he's going to go away with his family and look at those choices and make a decision. He's then got to look at the motivations over staying or moving.

Who could replace Wayne Rooney if he left Manchester United?
"If it's monetary, there are very few places he can get the money which he's on at Manchester United. China would come into that equation of course but then you have the whole idea of moving the family out there or going out there on your own.
"The problems with living over there and playing football is far below the level he's used to at Manchester United and Everton at the start of his career.
"Then you look at playing, he's not going to play at Manchester United even as much as he has done this season, there's no doubt about that."
After the Super Cup, there will still be over three weeks of the transfer window remaining and it could be a case of a late exit from Old Trafford for Rooney.
Wayne Rooney must decide whether he wants to stay at or leave Manchester United
"When I asked him about winning everything, which of course he's done pretty much with the Champions League and now the Europa League, he played a couple of minutes on Wednesday night in Stockholm, he said 'I've not won a European Super Cup'," Cooper added.
"Manchester United are now in the Super Cup final, up against Real Madrid or Juventus. It might mean that becomes another motivation for completing the set and this whole thing drags on until the end of the transfer window, right up to the the crucks of it at the start of September.
"Manchester United are relaxed about the whole situation, he has a couple of years left on his contract. If he was to leave the club it would give them a little bit more flexibility in terms of what they can perhaps pay others coming in this summer.
"But I think they are prepared for him perhaps staying on that salary and at Manchester United. At this stage that seems unlikely."
