Jose Mourinho has refused to grant Anthony Martial a guaranteed first-team spot at Manchester United.
Martial has had a mixed season under Mourinho after impressing last term following his £60million transfer from Monaco.
And Mourinho has publicly criticised the France international, who was dropped for the 1-1 draw at Stoke on Saturday.
Jose Mourinho has not been convinced by Anthony Martial at Manchester United
“I think he didn’t catch with both hands a big opportunity he had,” Mourinho said.
“We have still five players for this position. I cannot give one player chances to play and kill the others.
“But with the other guys I think you would be asking me why Mata is not playing or why Marcus Rashford doesn’t have a chance, or why Jesse Lingard, a national team player, is not playing.”

Who could Jose Mourinho sign in January?
Manchester United are close to completing their third permanent transfer of the January window.
United midfielder Sean Goss, 21, is on the verge of joining Queens Park Rangers for a fee of £500,000.
QPR director Les Ferdinand said: “Sean’s very highly rated and the mere fact he is even looking at coming to us is a real positive.
“He’s an excellent young midfielder and exactly the type of player we’ve been looking at. That deal is close to being completed."
Memphis Depay will wear the No 9 shirt at Lyon
Memphis Depay has revealed what he thinks about Jose Mourinho after leaving Manchester United.
Depay completed his £21.7m transfer to French side Lyon last week.
"In Manchester, I always worked as I had to,” Depay said. “For me personally, it wasn’t all that easy, I needed to play. But we didn’t have a bad relationship.
“He’s a great coach and a great person. Now we’ll see here how I play. In any case, I think he has said good things about me.”
