Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says Memphis Depay could make a shock return to the club after completing his move to Lyon.

He said: "Of course, because potentially he is a very good player.

"I think when Mr Van Gaal decided to buy him, he did well. He knew him very well from the national team. He was very young when in the [2014] World Cup. He had flashes of top quality.

Memphis Depay has confirmed his move from Manchester United to Lyon on Twitter

"He was playing well in Holland — we know that the Dutch league is not the same but he was showing very good things. I think Mr Van Gaal and Manchester United they did well to buy him.

"He didn't succeed in this 18 months, I would say, but he is very young so I think it is important for the club to keep control of this talent.

"And we all wish that he plays very, very well at Olympique Lyon, and why not to come back because everyone here likes him."

Antoine Griezmann is a top transfer target for Manchester United

Wolves manager Paul Lambert has revealed Manchester United are yet to decide whether to recall Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from his season-long loan spell.

The 19-year-old began the campaign in the side but has fallen out of favour at the Championship club since Lambert replaced sacked coach Walter Zenga in October.

“We’re in dialogue with Manchester United so we’ll see what happens with that,” Lambert told the Wolves website.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague claims Manchester United have not reached an agreement with Antoine Griezmann over blockbuster summer move.

The France forward has been strongly linked with a transfer to Old Trafford with a proposed £86m deal.

But Balague insists no deal is yet done.

"Antoine Griezmann has definitely NOT decided on his future,” he told Sky Sports.

“There is no agreement with Manchester United.

"Do United want him? Yes, they want him and he will consider his future. He has said no offers from Manchester City and United in the past.

"Even though his future is not linked to Diego Simeone, he would like to stay at Atletico Madrid if Simeone stays.”
