If they’d got those wins they deserved they’d be challenging for the league
Sir Alex Ferguson
Sir Alex Ferguson has provided his support to Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho over their lack of a title challenge.
United have drawn seven of their last 11 Premier League games at Old Trafford, but their former boss is sympathetic towards Mourinho.
“I get on well with Jose and think he’s doing a really good job,” Ferguson told US radio channel SiriusXM FC.
“He’s been a bit unlucky actually because there are home games this season they’ve been absolutely brilliant in but have drawn them.
“If they’d got those wins they deserved they’d be challenging for the league, there’s no doubt about that.”

Marcus Rashford has reportedly emerged as a shock target for Real Madrid.
United’s young striker has been limited for starts this season under Mourinho, but he remains highly rated at the club.
And according Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Madrid scouts and their sports management team have named the 19-year-old on a nine-man striker wishlist.
President Florentino Perez will take Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo’s opinions and wishes into account ahead of the summer.
But a move could be pursued for Rashford, although Kylian Mbappe and Andre Silva are preferred options at the Bernabeu.

Chris Smalling is spotted out in Hale walking with a knee brace
The United centre-half withdrew from international duty with England last week due to an unspecified issue.
Last night the 27-year-old was pictured walking with girlfriend Sam Cooke in Hale, although he was wearing a knee support.
Smalling is a major doubt for Saturday’s Premier League visit from West Brom (3pm).
And the fresh injury concern will not help Mourinho ahead of a gruelling month consisting of nine fixtures.
