Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to secure deals for Antoine Griezmann and Victor Lindelof.
A move for £86million-rated Griezmann appears to be edging closer following suggestions United had agreed a deal in principle with Atletico Madrid.
United chased Benfica defender Lindelof throughout the January window, but had no joy.
And according to the Daily Mail, Mourinho is prepared to splash the cash on the duo.
It is thought United could stump up £130m to help aid their title challenge next term.

Carrick could be asked to take a reduction to his salary to secure another deal
Manchester United source
Michael Carrick will reportedly have to take a pay cut to stay on at United.
The 35-year-old is out of contract with the Red Devils at the end of the season.
Despite being on a £130,000-a-week deal, The Sun claim Old Trafford chiefs want him to accept weekly wages of £70,000.
A United source told the paper: “Carrick could be asked to take a reduction to his salary to secure another deal.
“He wants to stay and by all accounts Jose has told the board similar. He is on big wages here and would have to take a cut.
“Carrick’s influence and experience in United’s engine room is undeniable, he’s a key player for the team."
