Real Madrid star Raphael Varane is potentially open to linking up with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
Varane has established himself as one of the world’s best centre-halves during his time at the Bernabeu.
United have failed in the past to sign the Frenchman.
But the defender has revealed he has a close relationship with the Portuguese boss, who could resurrect his interest in the 23-year-old at the end of the season.
“I had a special relationship with Mourinho,” he told French newspaper L’Equipe.

I had a special relationship with Mourinho
“With Ancelotti, I played less, but he did extraordinary things at Real and this is what counts.”
Real Madrid will reportedly have to smash the world-record transfer should they wish to land Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
Zinedine Zidane has set his sights on making a marquee addition.
Reports emerged over the weekend suggesting Real have agreed a summer deal for the Belgian, with a house and school sorted for his wife and three kids.
Ivan Perisic is on Liverpool's radar
Chelsea, the report says, are well aware of Real’s interest in Hazard.
Bayern Munich are lining up a summer move for Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
Sanchez has so far stalled over signing a new Emirates deal.
And Spanish paper Sport report Carlo Ancelotti has identified the Chilean as the perfect player to help turn Bayern into a dominant European force.
It is said Bayern have lined up Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez if a move for Sanchez falls through.
Dejan Lovren has urged Liverpool to sign Ivan Perisic in the summer.
The Inter Milan ace has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
And Lovren feels Perisic would be welcomed with open arms if he moved to Anfield.
“A player like Perisic moving to Liverpool would be great,” Lovren told Croatian paper Jutarnji.
"He is a top quality player.
“At Liverpool, all the players would welcome him with open arms. Obviously I do not know if it is true.”
