All the members of the ITV show took aim at MPs for their inaction to deal with fundamentalism, with former star of The Apprentice Saira Khan leading the discussion about the collective anger in the wake of the London and Manchester terror attacks.
The 47-year-old journalist and broadcaster explained: “I am today a very, very angry British Asian Muslim. I was born in this country and for 47 years I’ve had both feet in both cultures. One in the British Asian Muslim culture and one in the British culture.
“Growing up, I’ve put my neck on the line and talked about these issues for over 25 years and got a lot of flack. I believed in the cause. I believed in it because I’m British first. This is my country.”
She went on to say: “What’s happened in this country is that the British culture, the British authority say, 'We don’t really know about your religion, so let’s just have some people in your communities and they can represent that community.’
“I grew up in this country and I thought that man in the beard that keeps coming out and talking about religion – I don’t know what he’s talking about. He’s not representing me. Why is my local authority not representing me? Why is my local MP not representing me?
“Just because I’m a different colour, just because I’ve got a different religion, all of a sudden they think I’m not British like I’m an alien, like I’ve got different needs."
Saira Khan did not hold back on Loose Women
Jane Moore and Saira Khan slam the government over the rise of extremism
All politicians from all parties watching this should be ashamed of themselves because what they’ve done for the last 20 years is put their fingers in their ears and not listened
Fellow Loose Women panellist Ruth Langsford asked: “Are we pussyfooting around it?” as she brought Jane Moore into the debate.
Jane, 55, told them passionately: “A former head of COBRA Richard Kemp said it all for me yesterday, he said it is about a lack of political will and that goes for all political parties. All politicians from all parties watching this should be ashamed of themselves because what they’ve done for the last 20 years is put their fingers in their ears and not listened.

“Because they have not wanted to say, ‘You know what, this is Great Britain and if you were born here or if you choose to wilfully come and live here, you are more than welcome. But the word that comes first is British. If you are a British Muslim, you are quite welcome to go and pray at your local mosque, outside of that you live a British way of life.”
Coleen Nolan hit out at extremism in Britain on Loose Women
The Loose Women did not hold back in their criticism
Coleen Nolan agreed with them, saying: “That’s not racist because what really upsets me is that everybody is terrified of saying that. Certainly the people in power – in case they are called racist because the racist card is always pulled out when people say that.
“But we can say that against our own people. They are allowed to say it against us and we have to go, ‘Oh, it’s freedom of speech.’ It’s freedom of speech for them but never for us.”
Their opinions attracted much praise from those watching at home as many people took to social media to hail them for their opinions.
