Liverpool want to sign £50million-rated Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is determined to boost his defence after letting Mamadou Sakho head on loan to Crystal Palace.

Man Utd transfer news
Atletico Madrid are confident Antoine Griezmann will snub Manchester United and remain at the club this summer, says Guillem Balague
Express Sport understands Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to bring Griezmann to the Premier League – even if it means triggering his £85m release clause.
But La Liga expert Balague told Sky Sports that Atletico are not worried about him leaving.
“Atletico believe Griezmann when he says he will stay next season,” he said.
“For the club, there is no issue and the plan is to give him a new contract during the summer with a bigger buy out clause than the €100m that he has now."

Arsenal transfer news
Arsenal WILL sell Alexis Sanchez in the summer unless he lowers his £400,000-a-week wage demands and signs a new contract, Express Sport understands.
Sanchez is currently on £130,000 a week but is keen to boost his earnings if he is to remain at the Emirates.
But Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is worried the star’s new deal would upset the balance in the rest of the squad.
And if Sanchez doesn’t like what Arsenal offer him then he will be sold – most likely to a non-Premier League club.

Chelsea transfer news
John Terry has been offered the chance to join former Chelsea player Dan Petrescu at Dubai-based club Al Nasr, claim The Sun.
Terry is out of contract this summer and could seek to extend his career abroad.
The Chelsea defender, 36, is said to have been offered a cash-laden deal to head to the UAE.
Petrescu told the Gulf Times newspaper: "Where will John Terry end up next season? Al Nasr. Of course, why not? I will call him and ask.”
