Liverpool are in talks with Sporting Lisbon over signing Gelson Martins
Jurgen Klopp is ready to splash the cash this summer ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League next season and he’s keen to get his transfer business done early.
Liverpool have been pushing for move to sign Roma winger Mohamed Salah with the Reds reportedly agreeing personal terms with the former Chelsea player.
But the Merseyside outfit have hit a stumbling block in negotiations with the club as they are yet to meet Roma’s £35m asking price.
And Sky Sports claim they have now turned their attention to Martins.

How could the Liverpool starting XI look in 2017/18?
The 22-year-old, who scored six goals for the Portuguese side last season, was scouted regularly by the Reds.
Martins is said to have a £46.5m release clause in his contract but Sporting could sell him for around £40m.
The Portuguese side are well aware they face a fight on their hands to keep hold of the exciting talent.
And having failed to secure Champions League football next term they may need to cash in on him to raise funds.

Liverpool are yet to agree a fee with Roma for Mohamed Salah
Sky Sports suggest Liverpool could now prioritise a move for Martins over Salah with the former yet to reach his prime.
22-year-old Martins could prove better value for money than 24-year-old Salah – who previously flopped in the Premier League with Chelsea.
Martins, who has five senior caps for Portugal under his belt, is under contract with Sporting until 2020.
