Liverpool are ready to trigger Inaki Williams' £43m release clause
Express Sport revealed last year that Liverpool were interested in signing the 22-year-old Spaniard.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp failed to make any new signings in January and they have paid for it in the Premier League, dropping outside of the title race and facing a fight for a top-four finish.
And Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claim the Reds are now ready to land Williams in the summer with Klopp looking to bolster his ranks as he bids to avoid a repeat of their recent slump.
Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing Williams to Anfield
Williams has a release clause of €50m euros (£43m) and Klopp is apparently now ready to renew his interest in the La Liga star by triggering this clause in his contract in an attempt to bring him to Anfield.
But Williams has poured cold water of these rumours after he admitted that his first choice is to stay at Bilbao.
"Lots of things are coming out in the news but I am calm," Williams told Sportium.
Williams has scored four goals and provided seven assists for Bilbao this season
