Liverpool transfer target Ivan PerisicGETTY

Liverpool reportedly want to sign Ivan Perisic

Manchester United and Chelsea were linked with a push for Perisic yesterday, with Inter open to selling their playmaker.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claimed both Premier League sides had tracked the Croatia international in recent weeks.

It was reported that Inter are willing to sell Perisic in order to raise funds so they can go after Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez or Sergio Aguero at Manchester City.

And the Daily Star Sunday now claim Liverpool have entered the fray.

According to the report, Perisic is available for £35million.

They claim the move would help fund a deal to sign Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain, although they would have to battle past Juventus to land the in-demand Italian midfielder.

Persian, 27, cost Inter £10m when he arrived from Wolfsburg three years ago.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already said he will not sign players this month unless they significantly improve his squad.

But with their 3-2 loss to Swansea yesterday ringing alarm bells at Anfield the boss may be tempted to dip into the market.
