Liverpool blew Tottenham away thanks to two minutes of brilliance from Sadio Mane in the first-half.
The Senegal international popped up with two goals on the 16th and 18th minutes which Mauricio Pochettino's side could not recover from.
Spurs saw a Christian Eriksen goal ruled out for offside in the second-half but did little to get themselves back in the game.
The result sees the Reds jump back into the top four, leapfrogging Manchester United and Manchester City.
While Tottenham could lose ground on league leaders Chelsea who take on Burnley tomorrow (1.30pm).
Liverpool started the brighter of the two sides and Mane's pace was a constant threat for the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp's side pinched the ball on the halfway line for their first goal, sliding in Mane after some neat interplay in the midfield.
Georginio Wijnaldum's through-ball found its way to Mane, who ran beyond Ben Davies and dinked the ball over Hugo Lloris to make it 1-0.
And just two minutes later Lloris was picking the ball out the back of his net again as the Reds made it 2-0 in quick succession.
The home side again snatched possession, pick-pocketing Eric Dier who was dawdling on a long ball played forward.
Mane snatched the ball, leading to efforts for Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino which were both denied by Lloris.
But Mane made no mistake and smashed home a rebound to grab his second of the game and give the Reds a comfortable lead in the game.
Spurs were shellshocked and did well to get in at the break just 2-0 down, but they did little to get back into the game after the restart.
