Left 4 Dead 3, Portal 3 and Half Life 3 are wanted by fans
Left 4 Dead 3, Half Life 3 and even Portal 3 were the subject of countless questions during Valve boss Gabe Newell's recent Q&A session.
And the Valve boss had good news for fans, after revealing that the company was working on a brand new single-player experience.
One fan asked if Valve was still making fully-fledged single-player games, to which Newell simply replied: "Yes."
Newell would drop another clue later in the session, confirming that there was a chance of a new game set in the Half Life/Portal universe.
Whether this means Half Life 3, Portal 3 or a brand new IP is unclear, but it's encouraging news for fans.
Fans can also expect other unannounced projects that are being developed using the Source 2 engine.
"We are continuing to use Source 2 as our primary game development environment," he said.
"Aside from moving Dota 2 to the engine recently, we are are using it as the foundation of some unannounced products. We would like to have everyone working on games here at Valve to eventually be using the same engine.
"We also intend to continue to make the Source 2 engine work available to the broad developer community as we go, and to make it available free of charge."

Left 4 Dead was also mentioned during the Q&A. Newell said that Left 4 Dead was a good game for creating shared narratives.
Could this be his way of teasing Left 4 Dead 3?
"When we decided we needed to work on markets, free to play, and user generated content, Team Fortress seemed like the right place to do that," he said.
"That work ended up informing everything we did in the multiplayer space. Left 4 Dead is a good place for creating shared narratives."
Based on his comments about virtual reality, Half Life fans might well get that rumoured VR experience in the future.
Asked about VR, Newell said: "Yes. We think VR is pretty important as a tool for interesting games."
A recent update to Dota 2 contained certain lines of code that appear to allude to HLVR, something that sounds quite a lot like Half-Life VR.
It reportedly references a procedurally shattering glass panel, and the line "used to force the HLVR player to speak".
Fans are hoping that these leaked pieces of code are intentional hints from Valve, although that might just be wishful thinking.
