The Stuttgart midfielder, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds in recent months.
Leeds have recently lost manager Garry Monk after he decided to quit the club and reject a long-term contract.
It is claimed he will hold talks with recently relegated Middlesbrough, with Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Hull also currently without managers.
But interest in Maxim apparently has not wavered as the Championship side look to bolster their ranks and mount another promotion charge.
And Maxim has now delivered an update on his future by outlining he will make a decision when he returns to Germany from his friend’s wedding.

Leeds transfer target Alexandru Maxim will decide on his future after his friend's wedding.
“I can’t say anything. First of all, I will now travel to Romania and go to my friend’s wedding,” Maxim told German outlet Lattenkreuz.
“After that, I will see if I will continue.”
The Romania international’s agent hinted in January that a move to England could be in the cards.
“I advise Alex to play football where you have the highest requirements and where they believe in him,” Herbert Briem told German newspaper Bild.
“There are prerequisites at Stuttgart.
