Liverpool meanwhile have struggled to put points on the board of late having not won a Premier League game in 2017.
The gap to the top of the table means Liverpool's focus will now likely turn to securing Champions League football for only the second time since 2010.

Jurgen Klopp opted to turn attentions away from closing the gap to Chelsea and instead wants the focus to remain on Liverpool improving their current league form.
"If our only aim was to get Chelsea then at a specific point of the season maybe when they are 10 points ahead with three games left of the season then we stop playing football because we can't get them anymore," said Klopp before kick-off against Hull.
