The Premier League’s top clubs are set for busy and expensive transfer windows at the end of the season.
And a number of top performers this season have attracted attention ahead of potential moves.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku were all nominated for the PFA Player of the Year this week.
However, ex-Arsenal midfielder Merson feels only N’Golo Kante – his favourite for the award – is guaranteed to stay put.
Paul Merson feels a host of top Premier League stars are set for summer moves
Chelsea would be stupid to turn it down and Hazard would have to be tempted
“N’Golo Kante could be the only PFA Player of the Year nominee still at his club next season,” Merson wrote in his Daily Star column.
“Real Madrid want Eden Hazard, who’s the other outstanding candidate on the list, and joining them is the pinnacle of anyone’s career.
“If a £100m bid comes in for him, he’ll be off. Chelsea would be stupid to turn it down and Hazard would have to be tempted.

Arsene Wenger has outlined he will not give in to Alexis Sanchez's excessive wage demands at Arsenal
“I think Alexis Sanchez, who is lucky to be on the list at all after disappearing in the last few weeks, is off in the summer, too.
“He would fit in at Chelsea but there’s talk about Manchester City wanting him, too, now. Whatever happens, I think he’s made his mind up.
“Then you look at Zlatan Ibrahimovic. To do what he has in this league at 35 is amazing. He’s carried Manchester United this season.
“But he won’t be sticking around if he doesn’t think they can win the title. He won’t want to end his career as a nearly man.
Paul Merson believes Tottenham striker Harry Kane could end up at Manchester United
“If he goes, I think Harry Kane will probably go to Manchester United as his replacement. I don’t see how Tottenham could turn the money down because they’ve got to pay for their new stadium.
“That only leaves Romelu Lukaku, who could win the Golden Boot this year, and whether he stays at Everton or not.
“But he’s made it pretty clear he’s not signing a new contract and he’s been talking about playing Champions League football for a long time.
“Kante would then be the only one on the list to stay at his club – I wonder how many times that’s happened.”
