Juventus are looking at long-term replacements for Gianluigi Buffon.

Buffon has been at the Serie A giants since 2001 but, at 39, is approaching the end of his career.

Juve reportedly want AC Milan star Donnarumma to replace him when the time is right.

And The Sun claim the Italian champions are ready to spend £45.2million on him in the summer.

Juventus have reportedly joined the race to sign David De Gea from Manchester United

Gianluigi Buffon has been at Juventus since signing from Parma in 2001

But should Milan hold onto their teenage prodigy, they are said to be ready to try and sign De Gea from Manchester United instead.

Donnarumma's contract at Milan expires in 2018 but the Italy international could yet pen an extension at the San Siro.

And though De Gea is one of United's most important players, the former Atletico Madrid star is Juventus' plan B.

However, Real Madrid's interest in De Gea complicates things.

Gianluigi Donnarumma could end up at Manchester United or Juventus

The Spain international has been backed to return to Spain ever since he missed out on a return on deadline day in the summer of 2015.

Should he depart for his homeland then Donnarumma could move to United as his replacement.

The player's agent is Mino Raiola – who helped broker moves for Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Old Trafford.

And the healthy relationship between club and agent could pave the way for another huge transfer.
